But what is a field licence and how can it help? This blog post goes through everything to know about certification field licensing.
What is Field Licensing?
A field licence will allow users to log into Clik Cert Electrical or Clik Cert (Field). This way, they can fill in certificates when out in the field. You can assign field licences to specific users called field users. This way, only that user can log onto a field device using the field licence.
Clik’s field licensing model is chargeable annually. This means companies can use the apps as long as the annual payments are made. Users cannot sync to and access the apps without an active field licence.
What Are Field Users?
A field user is a user type that gives access to remote solutions. They will be able to access Clik Cert Electrical or Clik Cert (Field). These users are typically your field engineers or electricians who attend jobs onsite. Granting them a field licence helps them manage their paperwork on the move.
You can grant field licences to any of your users within the office program, so long as a field licence is available. You will be able to control what field users can do when using the field applications. These user privileges will make sure every engineer has access to what they need.
What Are Field Licences Used For?
So, what could you access with field licensing? That depends on the work you carry out and how your business works. Two main products require field licences to use. We’ll explain what you can use these for and the devices you can access them on.
Clik’s NICEIC Cert Software
The field add-on solution for Clik’s NICEIC Cert Software is Clik Cert Electrical. The solution is available on mobile devices and laptops.
Which electrical field option is best for your business? That will depend on what kind of devices your engineers have access to when out in the field. Here is a rundown of each solution.
Clik Cert Electrical apps
The electrical certificate apps work alongside Clik’s NCIEIC Cert Software. It allows engineers to create electrical certificates on iOS and Android devices. That includes certs complying with 18th Edition Amendment 2.
With the Clik Cert Electrical apps, you can:
- Work offline (an internet connection will be required to sync certificates)
- Produce PDFs of draft certificates or circuit details schedules
- Save and email certificates to clients or colleagues
- Add circuit details and test results

Clik Cert Electrical for Windows
Clik Cert Electrical for Windows also works with Clik’s NICEIC Cert Software. It gives engineers access to their NICEIC electrical certificates in the field.
Clik Cert Electrical for Windows is typically installed on a laptop. It gives you similar capabilities to the apps, with the benefits of a bigger screen and keyboard.
Fill out professional electrical certificates, apply templates and send them to the office. Your team can then complete them and email them to your client. It provides a secure connection to your database, keeping your data safe.

Clik Cert (Field) apps
The Clik Cert (Field) apps work alongside Clik Cert. It gives engineers and field technicians access to their certs on the go. With field licensing, you can give access to everyone who needs it. Assign a field licence to each member of your team who attends jobs onsite. This way, that user can access the certs assigned to them.
Users can fill out and complete any certificate type. So, whichever certificate packs you own, your engineer will see them on their devices. There are forms available for every job you carry out. Including renewable energy certificates, fire security forms and risk assessments.

Cloud Numbering
With cloud numbering, field users can apply numbers to certificates. They also have the option to complete certificates when out in the field. They’ll be able to do this without having to upload them back to the office.
You can adjust privileges to grant or remove cloud numbering features for users. It gives additional access to your qualified users to streamline processes.
